Paediatric carts
Pediatric Carts are a type of crash carts used for children care during emergency situations. These carts are commonly designed according to the Broselow Tape, which is a color-coded system utilized worldwide.
The Broselow Tape measures the child’s length and, based on that, it categorizes him/her into a particular weight range which is identified by a specific color. Thanks to this method, doctors are able to provide the correct treatment to each child and it helps to avoid medication dosage errors.
For this reason, pediatric crash carts are equipped with eight or nine drawers divided by different colors, and each drawer contains the right sized equipment for that color/weight range. This greatly simplifies the emergency procedures and could potentially save the child’s life.
In addition, these trolleys are supplied with the basic accessories used during critical situations such as:
– Defibrillator tray
– IV pole
– CPR backboard
– Holder for oxygen cylinder
– Catheter holder
– Waste bin
– Compartment for suction machine
